About Spoiled Pooch
Love, Devotion, Trust
Spoiled Pooch was established in 2012 by Jeanetta Okoreeh, CEO & Founder, for the original spoiled pooch - our French Bulldog - Thaddeus Pierre. Thaddy stole my heart the moment he pranced up to me with his big ears at 2 months old, and we have been deeply in love since. Spoiled Pooch was all his idea.
During my acting days, after a decade in the fashion industry, my neighbor / dog walker moved to the East Coast and I took over 5 of her pet clients. Little did I know that decision was going to change my life forever. My dad always told me “Find something you love and never work another day of your life.” And I love spending my day outdoors taking pooches for fun location walks and hikes. I used my entrepreneurial skills to build Spoiled Pooch into the boutique company it is today.
We love serving all the pet parents who ask for our services so our team grows organically as our clientele grows through word of mouth, referrals, and google.
Spoiled Pooch is a local boutique dog walking company based in Westchester, with services throughout West Los Angeles from Westchester to Santa Monica.
We believe dogs are truly our best friends. We believe a happy cats purr is the best sound in the world. We believe it is an absolute honor to care for these adorable, funny, smart, curious creatures. We believe pets are family. We believe in doing what we love and loving what we do. This is why we founded Spoiled Pooch.
Spoiled Pooch Culture
Respect, Communication, Transparency
“It starts with you. If you are happy the pets are happy, if the pets are happy the clients are happy, if the clients are happy I am happy. So I do my best to keep you happy.” Jeanetta
We believe that our team members, clients, and fur babies are family and treat them as such.
This belief is demonstrated by consistent communication with our team members, flexibility with schedules when “life events” come up, and the respect we have for each other. Our team should feel comfortable speaking to management about anything: asking clarifying questions, requesting time off, and requesting a change of clients or job duty / hours if it is no longer a good fit. Tell us what you need and we will make it happen. We invest in our team because you are what makes us great!
We are grateful for every client who trusts us with their fur babies and are respectful of their homes and requests. We are building and maintaining relationships. We care about our clients and want the best for their pets. This means being up to date on what is going on with their fur-kids and implementing any training that they have undergone.

Timekeeping Requirements
Employees are responsible for accurately recording time worked on the Time to Pet app by clocking in and out. Federal and state laws require the Company to keep an accurate record of time worked in order to calculate Employee pay and benefits. Time worked is all the time actually spent on the job performing assigned duties.
Employees are required to record the time that they begin and end their work period on the Time to Pet app by clocking in and clocking out. Employees also must record their time whenever they leave the worksite for any reason other than on Company business. Any exceptions to this must be approved by Management. Falsifying or altering your own or another Employee’s time record is not permissible and is subject to disciplinary action up to and including the termination of employment.
Payday
Paychecks are issued through Quickbooks and directly deposited into your bank account. Funds are normally available the next business day after payday. Employees are paid each Wednesday for the previous weeks work, except when Monday falls on a holiday then you are paid on Thursday. Weekly pay schedule starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. The weekly pay schedule is made up of 52 pay periods per year. If a regular payday falls on a holiday, Employees will be paid on the following business day. Every effort is made to avoid errors in your paycheck. If you have an error on your paycheck, please report it immediately to management so corrections can be made as quickly as possible. This is best accomplished by looking at each paystub weekly.
Direct Deposit
Direct payroll deposit is the automatic deposit of your pay into the financial institution accounts of your choice. To begin automatic payroll deposit, complete and submit a Direct Deposit Authorization form on Quickbooks Workforce.
Mandatory Paycheck Deductions
The Company is required by law to make certain deductions from your paycheck each time it is prepared. Among these are your federal, state and local income taxes and legally required contributions to Social Security. These deductions are itemized on your check stub and can be viewed through Quickbooks. The amount of your tax deductions depends on your earnings and on the information you furnish on your W-4 and applicable state withholding forms regarding the number of exemptions you claim. If you wish to modify this number, please provide Payroll with an updated W-4 form to change your federal withholding, or the appropriate state form to change your state exemptions. Remember to check your pay stub to make sure that it reflects the proper number of withholdings. Your annual W-2 form will reflect the amount of your earnings deducted for these purposes. If you believe that your deductions are incorrect for any pay period or on your W-2, contact management.
Social Security
Social Security is an important part of every Team Member’s retirement benefit. As a wage earner, you are required by law to contribute a set amount of your weekly wages to the trust fund from which benefits are paid. The Company is required to deduct this amount from each paycheck you receive. In addition, the Company matches the amount of Social Security taxes paid by each Employee.Your Social Security number is used to record your earnings. Protect your record by ensuring the name and Social Security number on your pay stub and W-2 Form are correct. You can request a Personal Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement from the U.S.Social Security Administration by calling (800) 772-1213 or visiting www.ssa.gov.
Wage Garnishments
A wage garnishment is an order from a court or a government agency directing the Company to withhold a certain amount of money from an Employee’s paycheck and send it to a specified person or agency. Wages can be garnished to pay child support, spousal support or alimony, tax debts, outstanding student loans, or money owed as a result of a judgment in a civil lawsuit. If Spoiled Pooch is instructed by a court or government agency to garnish an Employee’s wages, the Employee will be notified of the garnishment at once. Please note: Spoiled Pooch is legally required to comply with these orders. If you dispute or have concerns about the amount of a garnishment, contact the court or agency issuing the order.
Workers’ Compensation
While employed at Spoiled Pooch you are protected by the Company’s workers’ compensation insurance plan at no cost to you. The plan covers you in case of work-related injuries. The workers’ compensation benefits to injured Employees may include: Medical care, Temporary Disability, Permanent Disability, and assistance to help qualified injured Employees return to suitable employment and Death benefits. Employees who are injured as a result of a work-related incident and who are eligible for family and medical leave under state and federal law, will be placed on FMLA and applicable state leave during the time they are disabled and not released to return to work. Leave due to a work-related injury or illness will run concurrently with applicable Federal (FMLA) and state leave laws.
To ensure that you receive any workers’ compensation benefits to which you are entitled, report any work-related injury, no matter how minor, immediately to your Supervisor. Promptly reporting work-related injuries or illnesses will enable an eligible Employee to qualify for coverage as quickly as possible. Workers’ compensation benefits usually do not cover absences for medical treatment or therapy. When you report a work-related illness or injury, you will be sent for medical treatment, if necessary. You will be paid your regular wages for time spent seeking initial medical treatment. Any further medical treatment will be under the direction of the health care provider. Any absences from work for follow-up treatment, physical therapy or other prescribed appointments will not be paid as time worked.
Spoiled Pooch will not be liable for the payment of workers’ compensation benefits for injuries that occur during an employee’s voluntary participation in any off-duty recreational, social, or athletic activity sponsored by Spoiled Pooch.
Reporting Accidents & Safety Issues
Keeping work-related injuries or illnesses from occurring is our primary concern. However, in the event of a work-related injury our goal is to help you recover and return to employment as soon as medically possible. Federal law (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and state Workers’ Compensation Acts require that we keep records of all illnesses and accidents which occur during the workday. All job-related injuries or illnesses should be reported to your Supervisor immediately, regardless of severity. If you fail to report an injury, you may delay or jeopardize your right to certain benefits. If you or another Team Member is injured or incur a job-related illness, you should notify your Supervisor immediately. If medical treatment is needed, your Supervisor may refer you to a local medical clinic or emergency center, depending upon the severity of the injury or illness. The Workers’ Compensation Incident Report must be completed in all cases in which an injury requiring medical attention has occurred. If an injury does not require medical attention, a Refusal to Seek Medical Attention form and a Workers’ Compensation Incident Report must still be completed in case medical treatment is later needed and to insure that any existing safety hazards are corrected.
In addition to reporting accidents and injuries, all potential safety hazards, safety suggestions, and health and safety related issues should be reported to your Supervisor.
Sick Days
Each Employee is paid the current standard amount of sick days per year after 90 days of the start of their employment date
Sick Days do not roll over to the next year
Sick Pay will be the average daily hours you would have worked that day at your hourly rate (even if you work commission)
Managers may use paid vacation days as additional sick days when needed
Additional sick days taken by employees are not paid
Scheduling Time Off: Personal / Vacation / Holidays
While our clients usually need our services during the weekdays, many of our clients also need walks, daycare, and overnights on weekends as well as holidays. Because of this, we expect that our employees will be available to work on these occasions.
Vacation/Time Off Protocol:
While your expected availability will be discussed at the time of hiring, we generally require that all employees be available to work a minimum of 3 days a week
When requesting days off, employees need to give at least a two week notice and it is encouraged to give notice for long vacations (a week or longer) a month in advance, or as soon as you know your plans
Please give at least a week’s notice (preferably 2) should you require time off for doctor’s appointments and if possible schedule them on a day you know the managers can more easily cover
There is a “first come, first served” vacation policy (especially during big holidays) in order to avoid excessive overlap of requested time off*
****All days off and vacations must be submitted through the TIME TO PET app and approved by management before you commit to other plans****
Client Scheduling Protocol
Clients are allowed to request / book / change services up to 7pm the night before, exceptions are made
Clients sometime cancel services last minute / same day and that may affect your schedule or create a time gap where you need to clock out for a meal break, other times you can skip the gap and complete your next visit(s) early
Please stay flexible and adaptable and gracious and call for clarity
Plan to work your normal hours and enjoy light days because a heavynday is just around the corner
Once a daily schedule has been made and you commit, it cannot be changed. If you are feeling sick the day before, please let us know immediately so we can make a back-up plan
There is no canceling work the day of, unless there is an absolute emergency
Everyone’s schedule is crucial to the whole company and it affects everyone (co-workers, clients, dogs) if there are unexpected last minute changes or someone doesn’t show up / calls out

Beginning the Work Day:
Acknowledge your schedule on Time to Pet - Review your lineup and ask questions if anything is unclear, management sets the order of your walks with both clients location and client ideal time frame in mind
Arrive to your first walk at scheduled time, don’t be late or it may create a domino effect making you late to every visit
Clock in on Time to Pet - this will log your hours for the day from your first visit to your last visit, clock out and back in for any meal break or gap over 30 min
Set your odometer to zero to track your miles for the work day, starting at your first visit and ending at your last visit (with no gaps) and enter mileage on Time to Pet (commuting miles are not reimbursed so do not track them)
When Visiting Clients:
Arrive at the client's location (house, apartment, etc.) check parking signs (parking tickets are not reimbursed) and safely park
Use key on file, or access code to get inside, if the key is in a lockbox return it as a housekeeper or other person may also need the key while you are out
When you are at the front door click “Start Timer” on the Time to Pet app - this will send a text message to the client alerting them you have arrived -this is considered the beginning of the visit (if you click the wrong start timer, click undo, and text the client about the mistake
Kindly greet the pets as you enter (always assume there is a camera or someone home or on a video call so lower your voice)
Make sure harnesses and collars are on properly. Please familiarize yourself with each set up for the dogs that you walk and ask questions - you are never bothering us, we prefer you to ask and keep our dogs safe
Walk for the majority of the scheduled amount of visit time saving a few minutes for after walk care (wiping paws, treats, fresh water etc)
Take 1 to 3 quality photos of the dog’s face (facing the camera) while outside
Return to client’s home and complete the after-walk care:
~ wipe face and paws
~ take off harness/leash and return to where you found them
~ refresh water
~ give treats (only if provided by owner and specified on app)
~ feed, if specified on app
~ bring in packages
~ leave a light on (when necessary)
All after-walk duties are unique for each dog and are specified on the app. Always check the notes if you are unsure!
Lock Door / Set Alarm (double check the door handle to make sure it is locked)
Click “Stop Timer” on Time to Pet app - make sure you fulfilled the full amount of time, please don’t go over 5 minutes of extra time - visit timer is door to door
Return key to lockbox (when needed)
Walk to your car and before you drive away complete your update, upload photos, tap completed icons (walk, peed, pooped etc) so that the GPS is accurate
Notes for Walking:
Please stay off your phone while on the walk, except for taking pictures, checking the time, or emergencies - we want the dog(s) to have your full attention
Use handsfree earbuds in one ear only if listening to music, podcasts, etc you must be aware of what is going on around you at all times - this is part of the job
Make sure you visit/walk for the full amount of time (Time begins as soon as you enter the home and time ends as you are leaving the home). If it takes extra time to put on leashes or do the after walk duties, that is okay - clients are paying for the time frame. If they book 15/20 min visits aim for the actual walk to be 15 min so the pet gets plenty of time outdoors and you still have 5 minutes left for after walk duties/feedings etc.
Most homes have cameras, so keep in mind that you are possibly being watched at all times inside the home as well as outside the home by neighbors.
Be aware of your surroundings while on the job ~ whenever you are wearing the Spoiled Pooch hoodie / shirt you are advertising our company and represent us.
While on the clock no other people should be joining you on walks or in your vehicle (except for co-workers when training). Special requests can be submitted to management, even if they are approved to join you on the walk they should never enter the clients homes, ever, not even to use the bathroom
NEVER ASSUME. If you have ANY questions or problems please call or text your manager or the group text and wait until you receive an answer. No problem is too big or too small! No question is considered an inconvenience.
Done for the Day:
Confirm you have completed (and checked out of) all scheduled walks on Time to Pet app
Make sure you have returned all keys to lockboxes
Make sure you have retained all Spoiled Pooch property, leashes etc and not left them in a clients home
Submit final mileage on Time to Pet app
Clock out on Time to Pet (if your clock in failed you can put in your correct hours in the notes on the clock in/out section)
If you think a photo you took from the day would make a good post for our Instagram page, please text it to your manager for consideration
Time to Pet Report Guidelines
Part of your responsibility as a Pet Sitter / Dog Walker is communicating what happens during your work day through the Time to Pet app, so both clients and management can see (and track) how everything is going.
Composing Your Reports:
When you send the client reports and photos through the app, you are communicating directly with the client
The app will show the client which walker was there for the visit
Clients can message you directly in the chat. Please check the chat before each visit to check for special instructions, feeding requests, and updates on pets well being etc. If the chat has a message for management please alert them so they can respond. The chat is the primary caregivers responsibility.
It is important that your reports are grammatically correct, have no spelling errors, and contain the correct info for the pets you have taken care of (spelling of names, appropriate pronouns, etc.)
Intro Sentence: Start each report on a positive note, even if something negative happened. It is important that the owner knows that everything is going well.“It was wonderful to see Fred and Milo today, they were excited to see me and go on a nice long walk.”
What Happened on the Walk: Transparency is key, if they picked up something on the walk, we must tell them in the report. “We saw a few squirrels which made for an fun adventure and they did a great job listening to me when I asked them to leave it. Fred was hunting for food today as usual and unfortunately found some pizza crust, let us know if he has any tummy issues from it. I did tell him to drop it to no avail, my apologies.”
Click appropriate Icons: It’s important to click the icons to indicate if the pets peed and or pooped. You do not need to write this out in the chat as clients don’t enjoy reading that, the icons are better. If the poop looks unhealthy (is a weird color, is very soft, there’s blood, or is diarrhea) then please include that in the written report as it is important information and mark the upset tummy icon.
Click any after walk care icons that you completed after. After walk care are listed on each pets details and may include:
Wiping face/paws/butt (click icon)
Giving treats left by client (click icon)
Refreshing water bowl (click icon)
Feeding/refilling food (click icon)
Giving medication (click icon)
Bringing in packages (click icon)
Leaving lights on (click icon)
If there are special instruction for after care such as putting the dog back into the crate or other area, setting the alarm, replacing pee pads, cleaning up messes please include that in the written portion of the message.
“I left them both behind the kitchen gate and changed out their used pee pads.”
Last Sentence/End Phrase
Wish them a good day/night/afternoon/etc. or say you can’t wait to see them again. The tone of the update should be enthusiastic so they know without a doubt that you love taking care of their pets.
Photos
Please include 1 to 3 clear photos of the dog(s) and their face(s). If you are walking two dogs together try to capture a photo of them together. Most dogs will sit for a photo if you ask them to. It is important to try and send a photo that you as a pet parent would appreciate. If it it too hard to get a good photo, take a 10 second video. The photoshoot and /or video should be done in a beautiful location with good lighting ONCE outside during your walk. DO NOT TAKE A TON OF RANDOM PHOTOS AND HAVE YOUR PHONE OUT THE ENTIRE WALK. I find it easiest halfway through the walk, to find a good background with good lighting and take my phone out, ask them to sit, tell them they are a good boy and girl (always makes them smile) and snap a bunch of photos on my phone and then upload one or two of them when I complete the update.
Additional Messaging Info
Sometimes negative or startling things can happen during the walks. Maybe a dog you were walking lunged at a stranger or another dog, peed/pooped/threw up in the house, tried to bite you or did bite you, etc. All Information must be disclosed! Our clients need to know what is happening with their pets, 100% transparency disclosed in a professional manner is mandatory. Helpful suggestions to solve issues are great. Don’t focus on the problem, focus on the solution. Text management if you need help with this.
“Fido was a little anxious and tried to nip me as I put his harness on, maybe you can leave him in his harness the next few visits as we build trust together and I will take it off him after the walk. Will that work for you?”
“Spike lunged at your neighbors husky again, I saw them coming and we had already started crossing the street, just wanted to let you know. All is well. That new prong collar really helps.”
***If there is a serious problem please call a manager immediately!
